VERDICT

As it’s the case with most things in this world, you get what you pay for. If you can afford to spend hundreds of dollars on Beats headphones, you will be rewarded with an extremely music sound signature that complements the mixing style of Dr. Dre and sound amazing with the vast majority of modern hip hop production. Beats put a lot of care into creating products that stand out from the competition, not to mention the prestige that goes hand in hand with anything with the signature “b” logo on it.

Founded in 2006 by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, Beats by Dr. Dre (Beats) is a leading audio brand and manufacturer of world-class consumer headphones, earphones, and speakers. Beats were acquired by Apple Inc. in July 2014, and they have since then introduced an entirely new generation to the possibilities of premium sound entertainment. Their products are premium in every sense of the word and divide customers into those who swear by their amazing quality and those who believe that a better value can be found elsewhere.

Design and Build Quality

By now, probably just about anyone is familiar with the design language of Beats headphones. The Studio Wireless Over-Ear Headphones look modern, stylish, and the soft fabric that covers the top of the headband looks and feels fantastic. You need to be extra careful not to touch it with dirty hands, or be ready to clean it one in a while. If this sounds like too much hassle to you, stick with the black version and completely avoid the white one.

Compared to other Beats headphones, the Studio feel more plasticky, but they are still more durable than most other headphones on the market. It’s even possible that some people will enjoy the lighter weight.

The Studio headphones have an auto on/off features, which turns the headphones off when you are using them in the wireless mode. With this feature, you can expect the battery to last around 12 hours. To charge it back to its maximum capacity, simply plug in any standard micro USB cable and you are good to go.

Sound Quality

Sound engineers over at Beats have worked hard to develop the Beats Acoustic Engines, which makes the listening experience feel more personal and real. Their signature DSP software is designed to generate a sound signature that suits all modern music genres, including rock, hip-hop, pop, electronic, and R&B.

With dual-mode Adaptive Noise Canceling, you can silence the noise from your daily commute or the drama from your loud neighbors when you’re listening to music. This technology automatically increases the level of noise cancellation to strike the perfect blend between your music and the world outside.

All of these features combined make the Beats Studio Wireless Headphones perform exceptionally well under all conditions.

What’s in the Box

As you would expect from a premium pair of headphones, you get a wide range of accessories, including a 3.5mm audio cable with RemoteTalk, regular 3.5mm audio cable, USB 2.0 cable (USB-A to micro-USB), and a hard-shell carrying case with carabiner clip.
